Yoga has been an important part of our family life. I suffered with anxiety as a new mum so I found the practice supported me and in turn made me a kinder person to myself and also brought some peace into our family life. My husband uses breathwork and meditation to help him switch off from his busy mind and my son has been found sitting in meditation in times he may have felt he needed it.
I began the family workshops as I feel it is a chance to connect with other families using healthy movement, meditation, breathing, and relaxation. With mental health on the rise in children I believe it is necessary for children to learn simple tools and breathwork to help manage times they feel anxious or overwhelmed in life. Although the level of technology has its place in modern life it also brings with it a lot of negativity and this is a chance to disconnect from modern devices, screens, and stress and come back to simplicity. Healthy movement, meditation, breathing and relaxation has proven in children to build concentration, increase their confidence and positive self-image, manage stress, and it is wonderful to feel part of a healthy, non-competitive group.
