It was always my dream to move to Spain, for many many years, and this year the lockdown which gave us a chance to pause from the stresses of modern day life gave us the opportunity to do this. Lockdown for us was extremely transformational. We enjoyed living a slower paced life, we enjoyed having more family time, the pause gave us a chance to reflect that our son who was turning six wouldn’t be little forever and we both wanted to spend more time together and not be consumed by the London rat race as it was neither good for our mind, body, or soul. It was as though the universe gave us a new life to try. Within a week both my husband and I got made redundant from our main corporate jobs, which we had been juggling alongside our passion for life which is healing and supporting people in life. It was like we were dealt a card in a game of polka and the risk was huge but to stay the same we knew all to well wasn’t sustainable and in fact wasn’t enjoyable. We took the gamble and decided we had more to lose by staying in the UK than we did to brave the move.
We made the decision to move at the beginning of July and it was like a domino effect that every hurdle we may have come across didn’t happen. From renting our house out, to finding a school, to booking our flights in the middle of lockdown, everything was so easy and it made us feel as though the universe was giving us the opportunity to live a life we had always dreamt of.
Here we are 5 months later and we are so happy. We have settled, always with a few
hiccups, but as they say here ‘Eso es la vida’ or ‘That’s life.’
I have begun teaching classes and looking forward to building a community with like minded people through yoga, breathwork and meditation.
